When your dog is showing signs of dog barking problems you have to start dominating your dog by obedience training. This is one of the ways that you are going to dominate your dog and show your dog that you are the dominant one. All your dog wants to do is to relax and let somebody else carry the can of being the leader of the pack. It can’t do that if it feels that you are being weak. So you have to show the dog strength of will.

Other methods of solving dog barking problems that you can implement are using some of the many dog barking deterrent that are on the market. These dog barking devices are to ensure that your dog gets some kind of unwanted stimulation every time it crosses the line and barks in an unwanted fashion. Most of the time, these dog barking deterrents come in the form of dog barking collars.

You must also understand that a lot of the time it is you who is causing the dog barking problems. For instance if your dog is in the backyard for most of the day and you are not taking him out for enough exercise, he may start to display excessive dog barking as a result of having too much energy. This is a cry for help from your dog. Most dogs need to be taken out at least once a day for a good long walk to burn up excess energy. Traditionally dogs were used to work, they had a purpose in life, and they weren’t just couch potatoes. Unfortunately many pet owners feel that they can just treat their dogs as cuddly little toys. If you do this you are going to have problems. You should take your dog out for a good stiff walk for at least a half an our everyday, you will notice a drastic change in the dog’s behavior and subsequently the dog barking problems should diminish.
